Accountability is racing autonomy. Post-Connect coverage put Muse at the centre of Meta’s agent strategy — Mac app control, connectors for work and commerce, glasses as a hands-free interface, and security controls including a Secure VM and permission prompts.

Deeptech Times’ 28 September analysis of Meta’s Connect 2026 announcements described Muse as an agent that can work across Mac applications, third-party connectors, and forthcoming Meta AI glasses. Reported capabilities include sending email, booking travel, making purchases, interacting with applications, and continuing tasks after the user walks away. Meta is also developing a Muse email address so the agent can be added to threads or forwarded messages.

Connectors span productivity, software development, payments, travel, and shopping. Meta has opened the connector platform to developers. Named integrations in the coverage include tools such as GitHub, Notion, Box, Granola, Stripe, and Shopify.

Controls Meta describes

Meta says Muse runs on a dedicated Muse Secure VM, with a separate Sentinel control for internet reach. Users choose which services the agent can access, and Meta says Muse asks for permission before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase. A Muse Confidential VM is planned later in 2026, encrypting the virtual machine — including user data and conversations — with a key held only by the user. Meta also says users can disconnect services and opt out of having interactions used to train its models.

Hardware around the agent

Muse is slated to arrive on Meta’s AI glasses for hands-free use and visual context. Hardware around that push includes Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses and a broader glasses range; Meta has said it expects more than 100 AI glasses styles by the end of 2026. Separately, Meta VR Glasses — a roughly 100-gram headset with a compute puck — are slated for spring 2027 at US$1,299.

Coverage context

Another major platform is packaging agents as something that acts across devices and commerce, not only a chat box. That product story arrived in the same cycle as incident inventories, a parliamentary inquiry, and a planned industry standards body.
